FAQ

Does Ben Ignacio accept installment payments?

Attorney Ignacio understands that regular people do not budget for legal trouble.  We are happy to offer credit to qualified clients through installment payment plans.  However, we will typically require a down payment.  To find out, it is best to meet with one of our attorneys to discuss your needs and capabilities.

What forms of payment will Benjamin Ignacio accept?

We will accept payment in the form of cash, check, and debit or credit cards.

Will Benjamin Ignacio, Criminal Defense Attorney, guarantee success in my representation?

It is unethical for any attorney to guarantee a specific outcome, due to the circumstances of the adversarial nature of criminal cases and the unpredictability of litigation and trials.  Therefore, you should be wary of any attorney who guarantees something to you other than his best work.  He is only trying to take your money.  If an attorney is willing to breach this simple ethical rule, do you really want him representing you?  We make no misleading guarantees, and pledge to you only that you will receive our best professional efforts to protect your rights and seek the best outcome possible.

Why should I pay for a lawyer when I might qualify for a free Public Defender?

Sometimes it’s a matter of getting what you pay for, but not always.  Public Defenders are usually among some of the most experienced lawyers practicing in criminal courts when they get to the felony level.  However, their case loads are so heavy that they cannot devote the amount of time and personal attention that you might want to have for preparing your case, much less getting to know you personally as a client.  In addition, at the lower levels of offenses, e.g. DUIs, domestic violence offenses, and other misdemeanors, less experienced Public Defenders are in fact assigned.  In contrast, Mr. Hawk, Mr. Sing, and Mr. Ignacio individually have experience equal to or more than the highest level Public Defenders.

Going downtown is such a hassle. Where is Ben Ignacio’s office located and where can I park?

We are conveniently located away from downtown, on Nimitz Highway, and we provide free parking.  We are at 1130 North Nimitz Highway, Suite B-299 in the Nimitz Business Center.  It is located near Costco Iwilei, Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy.  Other businesses in the Nimitz Business Center you may recognize include AAA, New Eagle Cafe, and Sensually Yours.  We are upstairs on the 2nd level and there is ample parking fronting our offices.

What if I didn’t commit the crime?

This situation is difficult, as the prosecutor believes that you did commit the crime. There was enough evidence to arrest and charge you for the crime, and you will need to take action to fight for your defense. There have been many innocent individuals who have ended up in prison for a crime they did not commit. A strong criminal defense lawyer from the Law Offices of Hawk Sing & Ignacio must initiate the actions to defend you against false allegations.

What makes the firm so unique?

The team approach to defense is the most unique and effective difference at the firm. The group of criminal defense lawyers draws on a variety of skills and experience and this is put to use in any criminal case. The client gets the benefit of the knowledge and direction of the team.

How serious are felony accusations?

If you have been accused of a crime that is classified as a felony, the first step you should take is to contact a Hawaii criminal attorney. Not only does a felony make a permanent mark on your criminal record, but it leads to harsh punishments. Instead of time in jail, you could spend years in prison.
